Cooking advice

Try Eating Raw Food : You need a balance of three basic food groups as most of your diet:
  • sweet fruits (apples, oranges, berries, melons, etc.)
  • green leaves (dark lettuce, kale, collards, spinach, etc.)
  • raw plant fats (avocados, olives & their oil, coconuts & their oil, nuts & seeds, durian)
  • Eat lots of sweet fruit, lots of green leaves, and some fat (as dressing, pâté, hummus, etc.). Add vegetables as desired, and sprouted grains and legumes occasionally. Try fruit for breakfast and snacks; greens, veggies and fat for lunch and dinner.

Buy Organic Foods : There are 12 foods where buying organic makes even more sense than normal.
According to the EWG (Environmental Working Group) the 12 most contaminated foods are:
    • apples
    • bell peppers
    • celery
    • cherries
    • imported grapes
    • nectarines
    • peaches
    • pears
    • potatoes
    • red raspberries
    • spinach
    • strawberries
All tested positive for pesticide residue – even after having been washed! Sweet bell peppers were the vegetable with the most pesticides overall, with 39 pesticides detected on a single sample. Conversely, if you're going to buy conventional, peas, broccoli, onions, pineapples, mangoes, bananas, kiwi and papaya had the lowest occurrence of pesticide residue.

Ingredients And Procedures
Ingredients
3eachgarlic, cloves, large
1/2cupoile, olive, extra-virgin
1eachrosemary, fresh, 4 inch sprig OR 1 ts dried
1salt, to taste

Directions:

To make the garlic-rosemary oil, peel and cut the garlic into very thin slices. Pour the oil into a small heavy skillet or saucepan, add the sliced garlic and the rosemary, crushing the herb between your fingers as you add it, and warm over low heat. When the aroma rises and the garlic just starts to take on color (it should not brown), about 5-7 minutes, remove from the heat. Add the salt to taste and strain the oil into a small pitcher.

NOTE: The oil can be made up to 2 weeks ahead, cooled to room temperature, and stored in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed container. To enjoy the full flavor and fragrance of the oil, make sure to bring it to room temperature before using.
