Food tips

Oven Tips : Check the seal on your oven door for wear. Even a small tear or gap can allow heat to wander away from your meal. A clean seal also provides better heat retention.

Buy Seasonal Food : If you're eating foods out of season, it's likely that they have come a long way - try to eat food that is both locally produced and can be found at that time of year, locally!

Dieting tips

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi (or glycaemic index) diet is based around the glycaemic index, a chart showing types of food and an indicator of the ease with which the carbs in the food type gets changed to glucose in the dieters body. The theory is that long-acting foods (ie those food types with a low Gi number), keep you satiated for longer and mean that you can injest less food without feeling hungry.
It is also extremeley useful for folk with diabetes, as the low GI foods are beneficial in controlling increases in glucose secretion.
